An Amazing Final!
Amazing indeed! It's taken Pool 6 years to win something, so the lads had an obligation to provide high value suspenseful entertainment innit? :) particularly for the likes of those from afar (not talking about Lime St!), it would have been a shame if it had been done and dusted after an hour and a half. Anyway, it was a real nail-bitting experience (those 1 inch steel ones from home served their purpose quite well, thank you) with many near misses and twists in the plot rivalling any movie at the Oscars this morning. There was friendly banter among the rival fans with the quaint British custom of inserting the F word into every sentence quite prevalent everywhere. Ah, what more can I say except that I enjoyed every minute of it, beginning with the fire at Warwick Avenue station and ending with the walk home from Wembley in those horse manure encrusted shoes. Life is lived for such moments (though once for the equine part seems adequate) and I hope we can have many more such times. Now, well-equipped with stories to regale the uninitiated back home, I look forward to warmer climes when the FA Cup Final beckons in May. A Final to treasure indeed, so long and flanks for the memories (note: must remove nails from mouth very soon). :))
